Sunderland City Council has launched a new property search tool for businesses, showcasing commercial premises available to rent or buy across the city.
With a number of developments in the pipeline, including the completion of Maker & Faber next year – two Grade A office buildings overlooking the River Wear – the new online tool makes it easy for businesses of all sizes to discover new and existing premises.
Listing commercial opportunities at Riverside Sunderland and at locations across the city, the property search tool can be accessed via the MySunderland website, showcasing everything from property types, sizes, features, amenities and relevant contact details.
Over recent years, Sunderland’s ambitious regeneration programme has created new opportunities across a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, digital, business and professional services, and the creative industries.
The city is a world leader in advanced manufacturing setting the benchmark for the UK’s advanced manufacturing hubs of the future, whilst the Port of Sunderland is ideally situated on the North East coast to handle a diverse range of commodities across its quays.
Sunderland has also attracted some of the biggest names in finance, business and professional services over recent years, with Riverside Sunderland attracting brands such as grocery giant Ocado Retail and more recently RSA Insurance, which will be moving into the new Faber building upon completion in early 2024.
The city’s infrastructure, too, is undergoing significant redevelopment works to support the growing number of businesses choosing to invest in the region. From the redevelopment of the train station providing improved access for passengers and a modern new gateway to the city, to the 5G digital connectivity which continues to expand across the city.
Councillor Graeme Miller, leader of Sunderland City Council, said: “Our city has some of the best business premises the UK has to offer, alongside fantastic transport links, skilled people and a world-leading university.
“Top businesses have laid down roots here and our vibrant, connected city is continuing to attract investment, which is not only creating thousands of jobs, but helping to breathe new life into the city.
“We’re proud of the spaces we have available, and this new online tool will make it easier than ever before for businesses seeking to grow, relocate or invest here to get in touch with the right people. Our Business Investment Team is also on hand to provide specialist support for businesses looking to grow or invest in Sunderland.”
