Football Fever

Tenants from The Beam took part in a 5-a-side football tournament at the Beacon of Light Sunderland earlier this month to kick off the Euros fever!

There was intense competition between the six teams over the course of a warm and sunny evening but with fair play. The final between Ocado Retail and Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd was close, ending in a penalty shoot out.

Thanks to Penshaw View, Knight Frank Newcastle and assett 55 for also taking part.

Bowmer and Kirkland scooped the cup and Jake went home with the player of the tournament.

Paul Anderson from Bowmer + Kirkland said “It was a great opportunity to do something social and lift everyone’s spirits.”

Jonathan Ward from Ocado Retail added “It was a really great tournament played in good spirits. We all had a great time and can’t wait for the next tournament in the autumn.”

Planning is already underway for another tournament at the end of the summer for all companies based at the Riverside Sunderland site.

This is one of the many events in the annual calendar for The Beam tenants to enjoy. Other events include an Olympic Challenge, end of Summer BBQ and Christmas Market.
