Christmas market spread Christmas cheer at Riverside Sunderland
Hundreds of staff from tenants at Riverside Sunderland attend the first annual Christmas Market in The Chamber at City Hall.
The market held host to 30 small businesses, offering the very best produce from a range of local suppliers, including Grinder Coffee Co, Brownie Easts Sweet Treats, Bert and Barn’s Natural Doggy Treats and Daisy’s Sea glass and Handmade Gifts.
Employees from around the city’s new urban quarter were spoilt for choice with the opportunity to stock up on luxury food items, beauty treatments, crafts and clothing from the variety of stalls.
Entertainment was provided by Thornhill Music Academy adding to the festive atmosphere. Lunch was also served up by local food vendors. Festive sandwiches and toasties were on offer from Jacobs Pantry as well as mini kebabs from Posh Street Food.
Assistant General Manager of City Hall, Laura Kerry said: “The Christmas market has been a hit with all our tenants and businesses of the neighbouring communities. We would like to organise it as an annual event to enable people to shop local, enjoy the festive entertainment and give something back to local charities.
We love to host events like these on-site – our events calendar is packed for 2023. The market is a great opportunity for the 2,500 staff at Riverside Sunderland to get together.”
